Halifax Show – 14 August 2010

The club wishes to congratulate the following members who competed recently at the Halifax Show:

Well done to William Bayes-Jones 1st in the Pony Class and to Ellie and Jon Neal who finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the Horse Class (a reverse of last years result!)

The club holds qualifiers for the Halifax Show at our Open Shows and Club Shows. There will be qualifier classes for the 2011 Halifax Show (to be held on the 13th August 2011) at the Horseman’s Sunday Show on 5th September 2010.

The schedule is now finalised and can be downloaded from the ‘Events Page’.

We have tried to incorporate classes for non riders, friends, family members and also dogs! as well as classes for the riders.

Classes include:
Novelty Show Jumping Classes, including: Horse & Groom, Horse & Hound, Pairs, Chase me Charlie and Accumulator.
Novelty In Hand Showing Classes, including: Nicest Mane/Tail, Cheekiest Face, Best Matched Pair, Roundest Bottom (Horse or Pony not handler!), Handsome Gelding, Prettiest Mare and Horse/Pony the Judge Would Like To Take Home.
Gymkhana Games, 5 races for: Lead Rein, Juniors, Seniors, and by popular request Veteran! (Rider over 40 years old) also Junior & Senior ‘On Foot’ – races for non riders. friends, family etc.
Dog Jumping & Novelty Dog Show, and also Handy Pony Classes and Clear Round.
Welly Throwing and Wheelbarrow Racing for the non riders, family, friends etc.

Combined Training & Open Dressage – 26th September 2010

We will once again be holding a Combined Training & Open dressage competition on the Club Field in September.

The tests have been decided and are as follows: Intro B, Prelim 7, Prelim 18 and Novice 26.

The combined training classes will be: Intro B + approx 2’0″ show jumping, Prelim 7 + approx 2’6″ show jumping, Prelim 18 + approx 2’9″ show jumping and Novice 26 + approx 3’0″ show jumping.

Puissance – 8th August 2010

The final club show of the year saw the annual ‘Roger Stubbins Memorial Puissance Trophy’ classes which were keenly fought out in all the age groups.

Congratulations to the winners: 12 years and under – William Pryderrch 3’9″, 13 to 16 years – Frankie Newell 4’0″ and 17 years and over – Abi Shaw 4’9″ (and her horse is 22 years old and 14.3hh!)

The Annual Charity Show – 18th July 2010

The nominated charity for 2010 was The Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation. For more details about the PDMRO see our dedicated ‘Charity Show’ page.

Thanks to all the class sponsors, prize donators and to those who attended the show in July. The total amount raised was just under £1700 but TRC’s Chairman & committee decided to make this up to £2000! with the balance coming from the Club’s funds. A cheque was presented to Neil Roden, a representative from the PDMRO at our Club Show on the 8th August. Pictures should be on the gallery page soon. Neil has persuaded some of the committee to volunteer to be ‘bodies’ for the search dogs to practice their skills on, date yet to be announced but should be fun . . !

Special thanks go to Margaret Shaw for all the hard work she puts into organising this annual event.
